The Sleeping Rainbow Residence is located just outside of Utah’s Capitol Reef National Park. It is a simple open floor plan focused on framing the view of the surrounding mountains. Namingly Sleeping Rainbow, a geological feature known as one of the prettiest landforms on the Colorado Plateau. It rises up to 3,000 feet, exposing an incredible array of multicolored sandstone and limestone layers. The building uses a muted palette of light grays, seen in the corrugated steel siding and aluminum windows frames, to contrast with the vibrate colors of the red soil and array of wildflowers in the area.
