ARTIST STATEMENT

My architectural background heavily influences my art. I have always been curious about the means and methods used to create objects. Specific tools leave distinctive marks; a chisel into wood creates a much different look than an angle grinder used to shape steel. Limits caused by construction methods have aesthetic consequences. My sculptural works, installations, and built objects explore and exploit these consequences.
